Shelton Construction Co was founded in 1993 by Daniel A. Shelton, President and Chief Executive Officer. Since its inception, Shelton Construction Co has successfully completed hundreds of projects in Southwestern Michigan.

We believe that client satisfaction is the cornerstone of our success. Shelton Construction Co offers construction management, general contracting, design/build, and maintenance agreement services. With a staff of experienced Estimators, Project Managers, Field Superintendents, Accounting Personnel, and Administrative Assistants, we are able to provide the necessary components to complete each project successfully, and tailor our services to meet each client’s needs. In addition, Shelton Construction Co draws from a strong subcontractor and supplier data base that is derived from our local communities and the surrounding areas. This local construction experience and local market knowledge brings value to the bidding and construction processes.

As a General Contractor, our accomplishments are many and varied. Completed projects include new facilities as well as additions and renovations to existing structures, all in many different building types:

As a Construction Manager, Shelton Construction Co has completed an award-winning 32-bed nursing home/assisted living facility in St. Joseph, Michigan, for the Caretel Inns of Royalton. In conjunction with one of the largest construction firms in the United States, Shelton Construction Co has also provided construction management services to Lakeland HealthCare for a $20 Million Center for Outpatient Services, a $21 Million hospital addition/renovation, and a $7 Million Medical Office Building. Also a project for Lakeland ($71 Million) for a Parking Garage and Inpatient Pavilion (138 bed addition) in St Joseph constructed in conjunction with another nationally recognized construction management firm.

Other construction management projects include the additions and/or renovations at four schools for the Three Rivers Community Schools District, a 14,000 square foot assisted living facility, and a project along Lake Michigan in St Joseph that includes an eight-story Condominium Tower, six Townhouses, a Clubhouse with pool and a Marina.

Under Service Contract Agreements, Shelton Construction Co provides professional advice, support, and ongoing building services to some of the largest employers in Southwestern Michigan. Our valued clients include Lakeland HealthCare, Lake Michigan College, The County of Berrien, The Andrews University, Southwestern Michigan College, and the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, Michigan.
